LEARN WITH A LAWYER - TRY TO WORK WITH OTHER LAWYERS TO RESOLVE THINGS OUT OF COURT.
Don’t take every little issue to the judge. Try to work with other lawyers to resolve things outside of court. Now this happens all the time, people get into a civil case or criminal case where they just can’t get along with the other party. They look for every little reason to try to impugn the credibility of the other party or try to cause them extra work, that really serves no purpose. All that does is going to get you in front of the judge, and the judge is going to roll their eyes and say, “what are we dealing with now”? You want to be the type of lawyer, in which when you walk in front of the judge, you come in front of the judge, they know there is a real issue because you are not in front of the judge all the time. This will translate over into your personal life as well. Only take real problems to people of authority, don’t be petty, don’t take every little issue you possibly can to your boss and knock on the door. Because when you have a real problem, they are not going to listen to you.
