MUNICIPAL COURT ATTORNEYS IN JOHNSON COUNTY, KANSAS

In Kansas, there are three types of courts you can get in trouble in, Municipal Court, State Court and Federal Court. Municipal Courts hear the majority of low-level offenses that are charged in Kansas courts.  Low-level offenses in Kansas include Marijuana Possession, DUI, Theft, Criminal Damage, Criminal Trepassing, Battery charges and a few other charges. Remember just because you're case is charged in a municipal court doesn't mean that it isn't serious or is less important than if your case is charged in state Court.  Convictions in municipal court carry the same weight to employeers as state court cases.  Municpal court judges have many of the same powers that a state court judge has.  Both types of courts can order you to serve a jail sentence, register as a sex offender and a host of other things that can negatively impact your life, future plans and goals.
