In Kansas, there are three types of courts you can get in trouble in, Municipal Court, State Court and Federal Court. Municipal Courts hear the majority of low-level offenses that are charged in Kansas courts. Remember just because you're case is charged in a municipal court doesn't mean that it isn't serious or is less important than if your case is charged in state Court.
